The Schools Solutions Group of McGraw-Hill Education has an immediate opening for a State-Specific Assistant Editor (Project Status) in our Science editorial department.


Responsibilities:

Assist with manuscript preparation by ensuring accuracy, readability and appropriateness in accordance with project specifications

Correlate proposed curricula to state standards and developing appropriate scope and sequences and program features

Assist in researching, reviewing, editing and recommending content to be incorporated into an assigned project

Collaborate with other departments including: Art/Photo, Design, Production, Sales, and Marketing to ensure a successful product launch

Meet all intermediate and final schedules and communicate frequently with project lead regarding progress

Contribute to the creation and completion of photo and art specifications and edit features

Help identify and evaluate pedagogical and subject matter research and trends

Participate in project planning, author, and team meetings

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with a major in Science or Science Education

Strong English language skills

Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills

The successful candidate must be a team player, organized and detail and deadline oriented

Proficiency in Microsoft Office product including Word, Outlook and Excel is required

Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired :

Previous classroom teaching experience

Content knowledge (through education or work experience)

Experience with K-4, In-Design, and In-Copy
